day course covering an introduction to the Lightweight Directory
Access Protocol (LDAP). This course does not focus on configuring or
administaering a specific server. Rather the focus is on evaluating LDAP
as a technology to consolidate and/or replace existing directory services.
- Windows NT and UNIX Integration: Problems & Solutions, (c) Phil
Cox, 1999. Full day tutorial on integrating Windows NT and UNIX services
co-taught with Phil Cox from SystemsExperts.
- Extreme
Samba, (c) Linuxcare, Inc., 2000.
Designed and taught intensive, hands-on, two-day course of using and
administering Samba servers running on Linux hosts. This included presentation
as well as approximately 250 pages of reference material.

- Served as one of two chairs for the Usenix sponsored 2nd
Large Installation System Administration of Windows NT conference
(LISA-NT) held July 14 - 16, 1999 in Seattle, WA.
- Member of the Samba Team
, a group consisting of about 20 people world-wide who regularly
contribute code and documentation to Samba
. My involvement has mainly been directed at testing, minor code fixes,
and documentation.

the College of Engineering network. The personal computers run a myriad

- Configure and maintain approximately 30 Sparc Solaris 2.x servers using
Samba to provide file, print, and authentication services.
- Setup and maintain networked computers in office and lab environments.
