Lightweight Directory Acess Protocol
T his page contains a collection of resources related to the Lightweight Directory Access Prototol. This includes links to various working groups and RFCs.I recently completed LDAP System Administration for O'Reilly Publishing (Mar 2003). The book is geared towards integrating standard UNIX services with OpenLDAP. There is an sample chapter available on-line. Examples scripts, config files, schema files, and errata listing at the book's home page.
I also teach a tutorial on LDAP entitled Exploring the Potential of LDAP. This course focuses on the ability of LDAP to consolidate existing directory services and maintain a repository of information for client applications. It is not a howto for a server from a specific vendor. However, in light of my current projects, it makes sense to focus on the OpenLDAP Project as an example implementation.
I've included a few addendum to the slides for the USENIX LISA 2000 confernce. These include
- a Postscript formatted resource page
- an example Perl script using the PerLDAP module
- appendix slides from USENIX 2001 in Boston for the provided case studies.
- Slides from a recent presentation at the Montgomery Area Linux User Group: 2 slides per page in gzipped Postscript and PDF formats, 6 slides per page in gzipped Postscript and PDF formats.
